Ornstein represents speed and can cover long distances in one stride. On the other hand, Smough is slow and lumbering but makes up for it by being high-damaging and having a thick armor. Not to mention Havel's is the heaviest of the 3, so that's somewhat limiting in terms of mobility; personally I'd recommend Giant's +5 armor, it's done me no wrong since putting it on.
