It does seem the PNW Coast's design results in a different kind of suspension than Redshiift and eeSilk etc. The Canyon's VCLS 2.0 looks a good option too; less to go wrong. For me, the dropper is a bonus; I don't know if I need it or would use it, maybe rarely. The suspension is the main objective.
