The depot was donated to the historical society in 1975, and then the president of the historical society, Hank Eaton, began a project to restore it and turn it into a museum. WebIn 1946 the Kauffmans sold the house to Henry Rhone who operated it until 1973, when the Grand Lake Historical Society purchased the house for use as a museum.
